Childrens Colouring Competition 2026

This year we have two separate pictures, one for the under 6 group and another for the 6-12 age group. These are available to download from the following links

Photography Competition - 2026

For those interested in the 2026 photography classes, these have been decided and are detailed below or can be downloaded here:

  • A Garden Scene
  • My favourite Pet
  • A Vintage Vehicle
  • Patterns

All photographs to be colour, minimum size 150 x 100mm / 6” x 4” and maximum size 190 x 130mm / 7.5” x 5”. Must be mounted and taken within the last 12 months

Handicraft Competition - 2026

For those interested in the 2026 Handicraft Competition classes, these have been decided and are detailed below or can be downloaded here:

  • Hand Knitted Item Of Clothing – Free Choice
  • Knitted Accessory e.g. Hat, Scarf, Gloves, Shawl, Handbag etc
  • Crocheted Accessory e.g. Hat, Scarf, Gloves, Shawl, Handbag etc
  • Decorated Gift Box Using Any Medium (Max Size 20cm x 20cm x 20cm)
  • Cross Stitch Card Of A Potting Shed (Maximum Size 250mm x 150mm)
  • Cross Stitch Or Tapestry Item (Kit or Freestyle)
  • Any Other Craft Item (Hard Material)
  • Any Other Craft Item (Soft Material)

Art Competition - 2026

Special Note - The show is for amateurs only.

The Allotments Association expresses their appreciation for all the sponsorship, assistance and support which contributes to make this show one of the major village events.

Invitation

CAPEL ST MARY ALLOTMENTS ASSOCIATION We would like to invite you to come and join us at our annual Village Show to be held on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September 2026 in the village hall. The Show has many opportunities for you to enter and show off your own and your families skills, not just in the fruit and vegetable sections but photography, flowers and flower arranging, cookery, handicrafts, children’s classes and much more. You are welcome to visit us over the weekend and see what other people can do and enjoy a morning or afternoon followed by a cup of tea and slice of cake. FREE ADMISSION BOTH DAYS FROM 11AM

Hints And Tips

Some of our judges have kindly provided some hints and tips for presenting your entries to their full advantage

This Flower and Produce Show is organised in accordance with, and governed by the rules contained in the Royal Horticultural Society's Horticultural Show Handbook 2016. A copy of which is held by the Show Secretary.

Capel St Mary Allotments Association will not be responsible for any loss or damage to exhibits from whatever cause arising, but all reasonable care will be taken of them. All articles must be at the sole risk of their respective owners.

Groups A, E & J qualify for the major award of: THE RHS BANKSIAN MEDAL which, in compliance with the RHS rules goes to the winner of the largest total amount of money in prizes in the whole of these horticultural classes. The winners of this award in 2023 and 2024 are not eligible to win in 2025.

The nominated trophies will be awarded to the persons gaining the highest points in total in the following groups of classes. Prize money will be in cash or vouchers and will be given for all classes.

All trophies remain the property of Capel St Mary Allotments Association.
